Knoll’s new sustainability report highlights achievements in eco-conscious packaging solutions. Knoll Printing & Packaging says the company plans to continuously improve, innovate responsibly, and advance sustainability.
Knoll’s new sustainability report covers its global operations during the 2023 and 2024 reporting period. It analyzes Knoll’s achievements, lessons learned, and ongoing commitments. Every two years, the packaging supplier releases a new report.
Knoll Printing & Packaging reduced its greenhouse gas emissions, rallied its employees for greater engagement in various initiatives, and more. One highlight the company achieved is strengthening both employee and community engagement with initiatives such as “Knoll Gives Back Day.”
“This report underscores our leadership in sustainable luxury packaging,” says Benjamin Cohen, Chief Marketing Officer at Knoll Printing and Packaging. Cohen continues, “It showcases our innovative strides in reducing emissions, advancing circular materials, and engaging stakeholders. And it’s proof that responsibility and excellence go hand in hand as we protect what’s precious for future generations.”
Knoll Printing & Packaging conducted a material assessment to better align its sustainability efforts with stakeholder priorities. Of all the forest-based materials Knoll uses, 99.9% are FSC-certified, according to the report.
Ensuring that all of its packaging is reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2028 is a part of Knoll’s long-term plan. The company is on its way to achieving this goal. The report states that in 2024, 85.3% of all the packaging the company produced was reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
Helping beauty brands develop and use refill packaging more often is another one of Knoll’s goals. Last year, Knoll produced its first skincare refill, which is highlighted in the report.
Guerlain’s Orchidée Impériale longevity cream in a refillable jar is shown above. Knoll used its Ecoform Molded Pulp package to co-design the refill in partnership with Gueralin.
Knoll says it will continue its progress toward building a more responsible, transparent, and resilient business. “We are proud of the progress we have made, and we know there is still more to do. We will continue improving our processes, while strengthening our performance year after year,” says Wincy Cheng, Sustainability Director at Knoll Printing and Packaging.
The report also states that Knoll aspires to “lead our industry toward a circular economy, where every Knoll product adds value to people and the planet.”
